Is it ok to have a job for the $$$?
Okay, so basically what I’m wondering is - is it ok for people to have jobs that they’re not passionate about, let alone even enjoy? I’m not just talking about food or retail either. What about police officers, nurses, lawyers, etc.? The reason I ask is because I am in the healthcare field, and it has became just a job to me. I am not all that passionate about it except the money, and this is generally frowned upon. However, I went to school for four years and I am in serious debt because of it. Switching jobs isn’t really an option here unless I want to make significantly less money or go into even more debt getting a new degree. On the flip side, it’s not always the best dealing with a professional that doesn’t care a whole lot about their job, even if it’s just the teenager taking your order at Taco Bell. So with both sides explained, how do you really feel about this? Just a heads up - this is a general discussion, not about what I should do in my own professional or personal life. 😊
