Tiny house problems

Ugh every single night my husband and I accidentally wake our baby when we're getting ready for bed. He goes down around 6pm and we go to bed around 9pm. Our house is small and old and the wood floors creak, the doors don't close plus they are heavy and loud, and the only bathroom is between our bedroom and the baby's bedroom. I feel so bad because he's sleeping soundly every single night up until we actually try to go to sleep. We end up having to go in there and essentially redo bedtime, rocking him to sleep and calming him down. Will he ever adjust and not wake up at every sound made or are we just screwed? Haha Anyone else have this problem? He has both a sound machine and humidifier on too!
