Has anyone here changed their baby’s name at about 4 months or so?

I’m thinking of changing her name, it doesn’t seem like it fits her and I’m really starting to regret it. In my state it’s free to change their name until they’re 1 year old. But I’ve been getting a lot of backlash on the idea so I’m not sure what to do

I would take a couple days trying out the new name before you change it. If it feels right, then change it. If you keep finding yourself using the original name, don't change it.

Names are so important and personal! Some people know exactly what they will name their kid before they even conceive and others wait until they meet their little one to decide. There is no wrong answer! I think it’s perfectly fine to change their name, especially at such a young age. Yes, some people may think you are weird. Yes, some people may judge you. But who cares! Only you know what is best and a name will be with them their whole life. So if it’s not right, then fix it! I do agree that you should test the new name out a bit first (maybe go on a stroll with her to a new place and practice saying her name out loud, try writing it on something, etc). I’m not sure if you have a SO or if you have any other kids, but I would definitely loop them in on the decision as well.
