Baby napping on their tummy??

Just a question for those who have been parents forever..I know it’s not recommended but I mean it was the way we all used to sleep back in the day right? And I was wondering if anyone does any side or tummy NAPPING? Not at night, baby sleeps on his back since we are all asleep....during his naps, he is always supervised. What are your thoughts? How does your baby nap?

My pediatrician recommended to let baby take naps on his tummy but now my baby is sleeping overnight in his tummy cause he refuses to sleep otherwise. However I waited till he could lift his head up.

My baby as a newborn slept better on his tummy. Until about 6 weeks old, then he thought i was trying to do tummy time with him & freaked out.
At 3 months i started lying him on his side as he had a bad cough esp at night & slept better on his side.
4 months learnt to roll onto his tummy(but not back again) & sleeps better on his tummy.
Im all for doing whatever gives everyone the best sleep

My 2.5 week old always takes naps on her belly. At night we still follow the on the back rule however she often rolls to her side

My baby only slept on her tummy. She had really good head control very early on so I always felt comfortable with it. I would trust your instinct!

Everyone is going to tell you that it is unsafe and not a smart choice or if they roll onto the tummy it’s fine. However, they sleep so much better. Being on the tummy the startle reflex that all babies have doesn’t wake them up so they tend to sleep longer and prefer it. To each their own but if your watching baby and you feel comfortable then why not?
