asexual?

honestly, don’t know exactly where to post this so ima just do it here. what exactly does asexual mean? my friend (female) came out as asexual, and from prior knowledge (doesn’t mean i’m right) it means you aren’t attracted to anyone. she’s had boyfriends and girlfriends and has made out with them, but i thought it meant you weren’t sexually attracted to anyone?

i’m just really confused and would love it if someone could help me understand, i’m trying to understand since i’ve found but i’m so puzzled
