How to clean my stovetop and oven?

So, we rent our house. A couple weeks back my stove started acting up so I texted our landlord and asked if he could get us a new stove and he says okay. He finally texted me back saying someone was bringing us a new stove. I figured when he said new he actually meant new, well it definitely wasn't new, the one he had them bring is OLD, really outdated and its freaking gross. The burner inserts have caked on grease and the back panel does also. It's so gross and I tried wipes it down but it's stuck on because it's been like that for so long. The one we had that started acting up was a newer stove and now I have this old gross stove. Yuck. Anyways, how do I clean it up really good and get this caked on grease off and off my burner inserts? I've never once had to scrub a stove because they've never been this nasty. Any help would be appreciated.
