Should i use this name?

Ive fallen in love with the name Madelyn. We would probably shorten it to Maddy.
Only concern is there already two girls, one on each side of the family, who have the name Madison. I know its not the same name, but they both get called Maddy too. Both are older, one 16 and one 25. Also my cousin has a daughter with the name Madelyn who is probably about 4 years old, but I havent seen my cousin in years and have never met his daughter, we live in different provinces too. 
Should i ditch the name or use it anyway?

Use it anyways for sure! I could understand using a different name maybe if your guys were really close but your not, so by all means, please use the name you love.

Family aside, the name is really common right now and there will definitely be Maddys in her class at school. It’s a fine name but if you’re worried about others having it I’d switch!

I have a cousin who’s name is Jackson and I’m naming my son Jaxson so we can call him Jax, I don’t really care who else has the name🤷🏼‍♀️ lmao

You won't be worried about a Maddy in a different generation of your family when there are 2 other Maddys in her Social Studies class. Consider whether Maddy sounds good with your last initial, and if you like the sounds of "Maddy 1" or "Maddy 2."

I would get something else. I wouldn't want my name similar to someone else's. Nothing wrong with it at all!  I'd rather skip confusion and have something a lil more unique. Whatever direction you choose is win win 🙂
