Should I pay it?

Ok guys, so I got my car stolen about 2 weeks ago, I got my car back but it's damaged. It's going to cost about $1,000 to fix the damages and that doesn't include towing or labor. My car insurance is due on the 5th of December and it's going to take me several months to save up to fix the damages.
Should I still pay for the insurance on it? I can only afford liability so my insurance isn't going to cover anything. The police said their looking for the guy who stole it but honestly, I'm not sure they're ever going to find him.

Insurance is necessary, however, if the car is not drivable at this time, I know a lot of insurance companies allow you to pay to keep the spot open so you don’t have a lapse in insurance. Mine is like $8 a month. I’d call and ask them what options are available. If you’re not going to be driving the car.

You can put a hold on insurance when you won’t be driving for a little while. Call them and talk to them, see what you can work out.

Why isn’t your insurance covering the cost of the damages (or is your deductible $1000)?  I mean, it’s not like you wanted your car stolen and it getting stolen surely isn’t your fault!  
Regardless, there is storage insurance which you use when your car just sits there and doesn’t get used. That way if there’s a fire or someone comes and smashes all the windows you’ll still be covered!

If you still plan to drive it then you have to get insurance. It’s not for you but if you trash someone else’s car then you are liable for their damages. Otherwise you would be in big trouble if you didn’t have insurance.

I mean it's still the law to have vehicle insurance even if it's not being driven. Especially if its parked on a road.

I think you can temp or non op your car so you don’t have to pay the insurance but you can’t drive it on a non op
