Can oral herpes be spread via a vape pen?

Hello all,

Someone (person A)I know often shares a vape pen with one of my friends (person B). I recently found out that Person A has *active* oral herpes causing an outbreak inside his mouth/under his tongue that can be spread by sharing drinks. He says it can’t be spread via the vape pen though.

In the past I used to share food or drinks with Person B (like if we tested 2 different flavors of drinks) but I’ve stopped doing so after I saw this happen.

I care about my friend (Person B) and don’t want them to get anything. As I am not familiar with STIs as much I decided to reach out to you all.

Can this be spread by a vape pen?
