Are you vaccinated against HPV?

Question

Ok so I'm Canadian and almost every single girl I know was vaccinated against VPH in school.
Earlier this year I saw a post about HVP and it looked like a lot of people either had it or thought of it as if it were a cold. This REALLY freaked me out because I know that it can cause cancer and be passed down to babies.
I just want to know if it's because of the healthcare in the USA or if some people just don't care as much as in my country.

It only protects against a few strands - so it’s still possible to contract HPV even with the vaccine. So what you think is best!

You’ll probably find quite a few people from the US on the map not vaccinated. It only came out in 2006 and they really were only pushing it for young teens at first. At least in my area.

I don’t know if it’s cause of healthcare... probably more cause people don’t care as much - like that the vaccine doesn’t cover all the strains of HPV. I got one type even though I got the vaccines (cleared up in its own within a year) so some folks think it’s useless, which is totally not true cause the vaccine does cover the strains that are most known to cause cervical cancer

HPV is a very common illness that 80% of women come in contact with by the age 30 and most of the time it resolves itself🤷‍♀️ I am vaccinated but the vaccine doesn't protect against every single strain.

my doctor recommended i not get the vaccine because there was conflicting research on long term effects because of how new it was. so i have every other vaccine, but not the one for hpv.

Its not recommended If your older than 26. So with that being said even if I was young enough I wouldn’t get it. 
My daughter is 12 and i choose not to have her get it cuz thats not for me to decide. I’ll wait to shes old enough to decide for herself. Shes vaccinated against all of the rest vaccines just not the HPV. 
Secondly, if they can make a vaccine that can help prevent a cancer AND make it so it target a certain age group how come we still have all these other diseases. Just a thought.

Yes I have been. 
But it only protects against certain types of the strain. I ended up getting in when I was 15 after getting the shot. But it cleared up on it's own.

When I turned 18 it was the newest shot added to the list. I did my own research and did not feel that there were enough studies done to support a decision to have the shot. When my daughter is old enough I will do more research.

I was vaccinated but ended up getting it anyway.  The vaccine is only for the 4 most common strains.

I think teenage girls have it in the UK and have done for a few years. I'm in my 30s and we didn't have it then.
