Are these contractions??

FTM... are these contractions? Pain in my belly and in my lower back. Lasts like 1-2 minutes then stops then comes back a few minutes later. Ugh wtf!!?? I’m 30 weeks 1 day!

Download a app for contractions and time them. If it’s consistent for an hour then you call your doctor. If some are consistent but most aren’t then you should be fine and they’re just braxton Hicks.

Call your doctor! You can never be too safe. I called because I’d pink spotting in my CM and it turns out I was in preterm labor at 31 weeks 2 days. I was dilated and having consistent contractions that I couldn’t even feel. It’s scary to call and might be absolutely nothing, but it’s not worth the risk. They were able to stop labor and give baby steroid shots for her lungs.

My provider said if you get more then 6 an hour you need to be checked. They could just be Braxton Hicks, but you should time them and then get checked if you’re having too many. My mom went into early labor with me and she didn’t even realize bc the contractions didn’t hurt, her stomach just kept tightening. I’m not trying to alarm you, I’m just saying that not all contractions hurt. Ive has 4 babies and the beginning ones don’t always hurt, they sometimes just feel like Braxton Hicks. You could also try emptying your bladder ( I get them a ton if i have to pee), drinking lots of water, and resting (i also get more at night bc my body is just lore exhausted from the day). Also, with my last pregnancy i was having regular contractions around 35 weeks, no matter what i did. I ended up having an undiagnosed uti/kidney infection that was causing them. They didn’t make my cervix dilate, but they were regular enough that i had to go to l&d. So, you could get your urine checked to be sure, i didn’t have any normal symptoms. Good luck!
