Feeding pumped milk
My son is 5 months old and is EBF 90% of the time. Hubs and I figured out about two months ago that he will usually eat about 4-4.5 oz every 3ish hours. He‘s always been in top weight percentiles and is a very chunky happy boy so clearly my estimate is not far off. Saturday I went on a weekend trip with my oldest and left the baby with hubs & mil. Apparently my mil gave him 7oz in one feeding and then my husband gave him another 7 the next morning. My concern is that my supply won’t be able to keep up with that. When I got home he nursed just like he always did and was hungry about 3.5 hours later. When I pump I get about 2-2.5 oz per breast so I’m assuming he gets about 4ish oz from me during a normal feed. But now hubs & mil think he needs to eat more but I tried and he won’t stay latched for longer than 10 min on each breast. Hubs thinks I should top him off with a 2-3oz bottle after most feedings but I don’t think that’s necessary. What do you think?
