Have you/are you going to give your baby the flu shot?

Hi mommas!
My daughters 6 month check up/vaccines are coming up and I know last time they mentioned we could give her the flu shot at this appointment. I didn’t really think much of it until now. Are you all giving your babies the flu vaccine?

Absolutely. The flu vaccination doesn’t prevent the flu, but it greatly diminishes the severity of flu symptoms. I’d rather have my children have a few days of fever and/or puking versus being extremely sick for over a week with a chance of being hospitalized 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not me. I don’t trust the flu shot and to me it’s so hit and miss. I know people that have gotten it and still have gotten sick this winter.

No. He’s getting enough shots already.  And it’s not even close to 100% protection.

I didn’t even know they gave babies this little the flu shot until her Dr said she was getting it at her next app. I wasn’t fully on board because I don’t even get the flu shot for multiple reasons which I told her and she explained to me some facts which scared the hell out of me I was still nervous because they get the same dose as we do which concerned me but I asked some Moms I know,did some research and talked to  My husband and we decided to have her get it and ourselves. 
No one around her gets the shot so we wanna make sure she atleast has it even if it’s only a 50% chance to avoid the flu it’s 50% more likely she won’t get it and we are getting it because we need to be healthy to take care of her. I’m a SAH mom so I can’t be down for the count.

Nope! Nobody in my house gets it and we rarely even get colds so I’m not worried.

Absolutely! Over 50,000 people died from the flu last year and babies are at such a high risk of complications. Actually excited for her to get it next week so she can have some more protection against it

I honestly never used to get the flu shot until having my oldest, now my oldest gets it every year and we will make sure our youngest gets hers next month. My oldest who is 5, we ended up not giving her the flu shot at her 6 month appointment and when she was about to turn one in December she got really sick. She was puking nonstop all night and we ended up having to take her to the hospital were she stayed all day and they gave her fluids and also mentioned if she would of had the flu shot she wouldn't be as sick as she was. We give her the flu shot every year since, but I will never forget how scary it was. Some babies wont get sick even without it, but you just never know and you can definitely hold off. See how baby does without it but, they might be just fine.

My son got his! He goes back next month for the booster. He was fine after his shots again this time too. I want to take any precaution I can to make sure he doesn’t get sick or need to be hospitalized.
