Makena shots ?

Can anyone tell me what kind of side effects they had with makena shot ? If any 
I am starting them in two weeks and wondering what to expect

I’m currently 30 wks and have been getting them since week 16. They do them in the Lower back/ butt (rotating sides every week)and one side always hurts more than the other. Other than that I haven’t had any negative side effects.

I am 24 weeks now and have been getting them since 16 weeks on my hip and as long as they inject slowly, it is not too bad. A few have hurt for a few minutes, but no other side effects so far.

I've been doing the auto injector in the arm for the last 10 weeks. For me it burns like hell going in and then itches for a few days after. A few shots have left me with pain for a few days and/or hives. I'm usually pretty tired the day after a shot. I think I'm getting switched to the intramuscular shot after this week's shot and I've heard that one isn't as bad pain or itch wise.

Honestly it sucks. I tried both the auto injector and the regular needle and they both burned like hell. The itching can get pretty bad because they do leave hives. Also it does leave you tired and in a mood the next day. I started at 16 weeks and got my last one at 35 weeks. So glad it’s over but it’s worth it. I’m almost 37 weeks with my rainbow so I guess it works. Good luck!
