Divorce as a sahm !

I have recently separated from my husband I was a stay at home mom I had nothing he took everything from us down to my daughters documents, stroller, even our car we were at the point of going to a women’s shelter but I ended up renting a room with my dad using my money from social services . I want to get a divorce but have no money does he have to file ? Or can I file for it ? Do I have to get a lawyer ? We both agree on the divorce and seem to be okay with co parenting.
