36 weeks went to L&D preterm labor

Raquel • TTC #2 - Mommy to a beautiful baby girl Milena Rose 🌹

So yesterday I went to work and was getting what felt like period pains. It started in my lower pelvis and then started to get a little worse like radiating from my back. Unfortunately two of my coworkers were out so I was feeling obligated to stay at work and just tough it out. I’m a ftm so I just kept thinking that maybe these are just my body’s way of prepping. I later started getting tightening along with the period pains and back pains. Almost felt like it radiates to my upper thighs as well. I left work at 6 and told my husband that I’d time the contractions when I got home. Well sure enough they were like 8 min or so apart and I started getting a fever like 100.3. Called my OB he said to head to L&D. They hooked me up to monitor the contractions and did an internal exam. My cervix is closed still but I am effaced . Doctor told me that he was going to give me iv fluids and if that didn’t stop the contractions I’d get a shot. After three bags of fluid the contractions were not stopping so they gave me the shot. After some time the baby’s heart rate spiked so they monitored it til it came down. Finally I was allowed to leave after the contractions stopped and she was back to a healthy heart rate. I’m hoping she stays in there a little longer . They said I should have called earlier and if I hadn’t gone in it would have progressed to active labor that they wouldn’t of been able to stop. Anyone experience this and then have to go back a few days later ?
