Me an my husband payed for it. I would never ask for my parents to pay for a wedding . My only costed me like $3,000. There's a saying if you can't pay for it yourself then you don't needed it.

For me personally, I think if the parents volunteered to help, that's great. However I'd never ask for their financial help with a wedding. Its mine and my guys choice to get married, not theirs. Therefore I believe I should have a wedding within my budget. That's my want and desire, not theirs. But again, if it was offered I wouldn't say no, but would also only spend what I felt comfortable with or thought was acceptable. I wouldn't use it as a reason to get out of control with the spending. That said, my husband and I essentially eloped. We got married in a park for free, I paid maybe $75 for my dress, he got new clothes too for about $100, a friend married us for free, a friend took pictures for free, and we treated ourselves to a nice dinner. My mom paid for me to have a small 4 daisy flower bouquet.

My husband and I payed. That said our parents did help. We didn’t ask them to or expect them to. It was their wedding gift to us. His dad payed for the bar. My mom payed for the rehearsal dinner.  His mom payed for our photographer. His parents are not married. ￼￼￼
