Bus Stop ?

We live at the end of the street and have our 10 year old walk to the top of the street to catch the bus, our street is not very long at all. Well now the lady across the street is complaining that he has to walk in the cold but he’s only outside for 5 minutes maximum so she started driving him to the top which makes me uncomfortable. I track the bus and don’t send him out until it’s almost there. Should I start driving him? It’s 35 outside but he has a coat, hat, gloves, and is barely outside. How do I tell the lady to stop driving him?

You need to tell your child he cant accept a ride from her and tell her she doesn’t have your consent to drive your child. I’d be polite and thank her for the offer but that you need her to stop.

Um hes your kid , you tell her that your not okay with it and she needs to stop . That simple . No need to go into any more detail with her . If she doesn’t stop then tell her you’ll call the cops .

Tell her nosey ass to go find something to do! They are kids! He won’t melt! We had to walk in all types of weather (I’m from Chicago) and no one ever said anything AND I’m almost 30 which means I lived through it to be able to tell it. Ugh, people can be super snowflakes.

You tell her to knock it off. You tell your child not to accept rides from people. Then if the lady won’t stop, you call the police. 35 isn’t that cold. Children like to play in the snow... and it’s colder than that when it happens. We used to wait upwards of an hour for the school bus back in the 90’s in 15 degree weather with just a jacket. We would run in circles or do jumping jacks to stay warm. Why are older people such snowflakes? 🙄

I would tell her to stop driving my son around without my permission. I would tell my son to not accept rides from her and if he wanted one that badly that I would bring him. If she does it again after you speak to them both then call the cops.

Wait she just started driving him without your permission? I would have flipped out if someone did that. I would definitely tell her you are not ok with that. I would also talk to your son about getting in the car with people. 
Personally I would drive him if I were you but I don’t think it’s bad that he waits for a couple minutes. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yikes do not let that rando lady drive your kid anywhere. I would start walking with him for a week or two, and giving her the stink eye as we walk past. Also talk to her and tell her you’re uncomfortable with her behaviour towards your kid and to please stop and you’ve told kiddo not to get in her her car any more. 10 is plenty old enough to be walking to the bus stop solo.

Talk to your son about not accepting rides - but he must feel weird refusing. Talk to your neighbor and thank her for the sentiment but make it very clear that you don’t want her to drive your kid (tell her you need him to learn resilience and independence). Walk with him the first few times to make SURE she doesn’t show up. Then send him in his own. If she keeps doing it then have another conversation and don’t be so nice.

All of the above. And if he's properly dressed (hat, coat, gloves) then that is definitely not too cold to stand outside for 15 minutes. Not to get all old-timey, but at age 10 I'd walk to the bus stop and wait in the middle of a snowstorm. Walking = generating heat. And 35 isn't unreasonably cold.
