Rsv what do I do?

I just went to the doctor today with my little one he’s 2  months old and he tested positive for rsv. We have Christmas parties this weekend some with just adults and another with kids and adults he’s probably had rsv for a week already cause he didn’t really show the sings other than coughing which started last Monday the 9th and that didn’t get worse till last Thursday so I didn’t take him in till today Monday the 16th My question is should we skip all parties or should we be ok to take him with us? Idk what to do I didn’t think to ask the doctor because I didn’t think he was going to be positive. I don’t want to miss his first Christmas’s but I don’t want anyone to get sick either.

I wouldn’t go around other children if your little tested positive for RSV. 
From my perspective if you went and knew your kid was sick, I’d be ticked since I’ve got a 5 month old. You don’t want to spread it. 
So I’d ask your doctor if it’s something you want to do.

Ask the doctor when he wouldn’t be considered contagious but I’d skip it all completely because it can be very dangerous for some people and your LO will have a low immune system after fighting it and be more likely to pick something else up.

Stay home and let him rest. I had RSV when I was 6 months old and was in the hospital for a week in an oxygen tent. His little body needs to rest to get better. Plus I wouldn’t want to risk him getting worse or getting anyone else sick.

Defo miss it especially as there other kids at the parties. My little girl got RSV and spent 4days in hospital on oxygen. Not worth risking other kids getting ill, when you can prevent spreading it by staying at home.
