When will they do an ultrasound?

Hi! I JUST got my BFP today! I am 10 DPO and I believe 3 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I am going to confirm at my doctor’s office in the AM. At what point do they do an ultrasound so we can hear a heartbeat? This is my first baby!

They will probably just do a urine test and possibly a blood test. They won’t schedule you for an ultrasound until you’re between 8-12 weeks. My office has always done first ultrasounds at 8 weeks. At 3/4 weeks nothing can be seen on an ultrasound.

I had a dating scan at 8 weeks. At 5 weeks my general practitioner just did a pregnancy test on the office and took blood to confirm. She referred me to an OB and I scheduled an appointment at 8 weeks, the earliest he takes patients.

Usually around 8 weeks or later if it's your first pregnancy and haven't had any problems with labs or anything. This is the best time cause you can see baby and hear the heartbeat good. Just take it easy. Just take your prenatals and get prepared for a wonderful journey. Make sure you make an appointment as soon as possible and also go ahead and apply for anything else you may need like Medicaid. WIC may want proof of pregnancy so I'll wait til the doctor confirms before you do that. I'm 10 weeks and this is my first. Everything will be okay and try not to stress.
