Budgeting advice ..

So right now my husband and I have a 2 month old and live with my parents. I won’t go into too much detail but basically we need to get out. Our room is the size of a large bathroom and we don’t even have space to walk.. just a bed.

My husband makes about 900-1000 a week. We live in NYC. A 1 bedroom apartment would be about 2000$ / month.

How do we budget? How do we manage this?

We always felt we could afford it because honestly my husband sucks at saying no to things. He likes expensive stuff. I will eat chicken and rice all week !! He likes lamb.

Anyway. How did you save to move out? How did you pay rent? Did you put a little aside every week?

How do you buy furniture? How do you save for baby stuff too??

BTW: he is laid off every December- March.
