I want a new wedding ring one day

My husband and I have only been married 3 months and it’s been great! We are only 21 and both in college still only working part time. We make it work with money and everything and it hasn’t been an issue. We had a small wedding maybe 40 people and we did it at this park outside for free. It was super cheap wedding spent maybe 1,500 on everything. Because we don’t have tons of money to drop I have been wearing my grandmas ring. She passed away a year ago so it felt right. I got my husband a $75 silver ring. I didn’t mind it at all at the time, I really just wanted to be married to him. ring or no ring. anyway,

My husbands friend bought his girlfriend a 2,000 engagement ring. I was shocked because ,1. they have only been dating for 6 months and 2. how they heck did he afford a $2,000 engagement ring. but that’s none of my business.

I asked my husband if he will ever buy me a new ring and he said I thought you liked your grandmas ring? Which I do!! But I want a ring picked out from him. He said he would maybe one day but we don’t have money now which I understand.

It just made me feel like he didn’t think I deserved a new ring or something.. I might be over thinking but I just want him to do something sweet like that for me. I am his wife doesn’t he want me to wear a ring that he purchased and picked out for me to wear?
