BRIGHT RED BLOOD 17 DAYS PP

I had a baby 17 days ago and for the last few days my spotting has been so light to non existent. The only time it gets a little heavier is after I poop which the doctor said is normal from the pressure. Today out of nowhere it was BRIGHT RED and has since been back to light pink spotting. I read online that seeing bright red blood after it’s been light is a bad sign and I’m now freaking out! My doctor is away on vacation and the on call recording says emergencies only. I don’t know if this is an emergency or if it’s normal. With my second baby I had to take a pill to help my uterus contract the rest of the blood out but that wasn’t until after 3 weeks of heavy flow.

Can someone help me?
