MIL says my 2 year old has attention issues and needs to be checked out because he won’t look when called all the time and is all over the place as she says... anyone else’s toddler like this?

Had his hearing been checked yet? If so then an evaluation with a developmental pediatrician can’t hurt. Best case scenario you waste a couple of days and your kid has no issues. Worst case scenario you diagnose early and have time to develop a plan.

Yes, sounds like you have a normal toddler. Some toddlers could care less about you wanting their attention. And they’re usually hyper cause they’re basically high on life lol. Unless your baby’s pediatrician shows any concern, don’t even worry about what others say.

My son is almost 2 and is so hyper and all over the place. A lot of the time he will look at us when we call him but other times he doesn't. I just think that he chooses to ignore us sometimes. We asked our pediatrician about him being so go go go all the dang time and she laughed and said it's completely normal for this age.

Sounds normal I have a 3 year old and she does it sometimes. and your MIL is probably just being grandma and still wants u to check him out. Lol

My son is 1.5 he ignores his name, usually cause hes getting into trouble. Lol 
And he does NOT sit still. he's always going, or squirming, church was a nightmare yesterday!

My toddler was like this for awhile until we started therapy for social disorder and possible autism which has now been ruled out. But I do still believe he has social disorder which he is overcoming very nicely!

It is quite normal for kids not to listen. Kids are easily distracted and I think 2 year olds are all over the place. Especially boys.
