Which is more ideal

I’m trying to decide if I should get a bassinet or just stick to the crib? I’m going to buy crib bumpers however, I don’t want to spend a good amount on a bassinet if my little one is gunna grow out of it. The crib I’m looking on getting is the type that turns into a toddler bed then into a small twin. I just know some people get the bassinet and crib, all I read is that the bassinet creates more of a snug fit and the crib has more space. Otherwise, pros and cons??
