Did BC decrease your supply?

I have an appointment in three weeks for a IUD. I just read a post about BC causing her to dry up. I asked my doctor and said all forms of bc fine while breastfeeding. I already struggle with supply and terrified to completely dry up.

My midwife told me that while hormonal IUDs have the risk of affecting milk supply, in all her years giving them to postnatal women she’s never actually had a woman’s supply affected by a new IUD, even the ones with high hormone levels like Mirena. She has seen decreased supply with oral BC and implants, though. Just anecdotal but I’m planning to get a new Mirena at my 6 week appointment based on her information.

Ur doctor lied lol it’s common knowledge that BC cause cause a decrease in milk supply...that being said it doesn’t affect everyone exactly the same.

I had Mirena and Nexplanon while breastfeeding and neither seemed to affect my supply.

I dried up from the mini pill.  My sister dried up from mirena but did fine with a copper iud.
