I’m done - no ultimatums

Yesterday after saying he was done I followed with the text below to which he responded “okay.”

We’ve know each other from hs and been together 4 years and I’ve said before I don’t want to be someone’s 40-year-old gf. He’s been talking all the marriage talk for a long time now and I’ve made it clear that I don’t want to get married right away or expensive ring, but I do want a formal commitment from him. I was told to “be patient” - that was over 6 months ago. I didn’t want to give an ultimatum so I finally bit the bullet and left and let it be know that was why
