New Christmas traditions?

Are you starting new traditions if this is your first baby? Usually we spend all day Christmas eve/ Christmas with in laws and my family but kinda want to do our own thing now that we have a baby. There’s usually no time to just relax on Christmas because we’re always driving back and forth to different families. Is it wrong to want to do our own thing and tell grandparents they can stop by when they want?

That’s totally us too! I think we pushed it this year. It was nice doing visits and our baby’s first Christmas with everyone but it was a lot and exhausting. I think next year we’ll do Christmas Eve and Day just us at our home and then figure out the travel for another day. We may still visit each family or one family can visit us and the other we go to them. My in laws and my family live an hour from each other which works out well but they are all a few hours from our house. It’s a lot to pack too.. with gifts and everything baby needs so I’m even tempted to ask people to send most gifts to our house and then save a couple for when we visit them (if we decide to do that). My sister has a son though and my sister in law is expecting so we want to go where everyone is (they live closer to each other) but it’s a lot on us every year.  It’s a stress we don’t need! Everyone else gets to stay in their own space and/or just does a quick drive. It will be nice to be home for a change, at least for the actual holiday. So we shall see 🤞🏻🎅🏻

Not at all! We both love thanksgiving so when our first was born we just said we were staying home and they could come. Now we host every year
