Heavy&Long Period, Not normal

Hey everyone. I am currently on microgestin for birth control and right now I’m on my “off week” to have my period. I started my period before my active pills were even over, and I’m currently on day 6 of a super heavy period. It isn’t normal for me to have long and heavy periods when I’m on the pill, so I’m wondering if any of you have ever experienced the same thing? Normally my periods on the pill are very light (2 light flow tampons per day and a panty liner) and only last 4-5 days. This period has been incredibly different, I’ve been going through 2-3 overnight pads per day and having clots. That is a norm for me when not on birth control. Any insight is helpful, thanks ladies!
