Low progesterone and fertility?

Does anyone have and insight on progesterone and ability to conceive? We have been TTC for 6 months and I just met with my obgyn and she said “there’s no evidence to suggest progesterone affects ability to conceive” and even if it’s low they wouldn’t recommend taking anything while TTC. Long story short I have had chronic migraines and had my hormones tested. Was on progesterone about a year ago for low progesterone but stopped it when I stopped my BC. I have pretty regular cycles besides spotting a full week before my period and I am ovulating so she didn’t feel strongly about getting my level drawn. The spotting is really abnormal for me. Didn’t know if anyone else would have any information about this. Thanks!
