Hand, Foot and Mouth or reaction to detergent?

2 year old had a fever yesterday all day and no other symptoms. He has no blisters in or around his mouth or on the sole/palms of feet/hands. The rashes are spread out. He has one spot under his ear, a few on his bottom, back and chest other than on his one hand and one foot. I also recently switched detergents so now I'm confused at the cause. What do you all think?

Fevers are an infection, bacterial or viral. Not an allergic reaction. 
Could be hfm, or a different virus (cold). Ask the doctor.

Take him to the doctor. If there’s a fever then it’s usually a viral/bacterial infection not a reaction to detergent. It can also be roseola although that’s usually concentrated on the torso.

My daughter got HFM in October and then I got it from her. It is awful. The fever came first then the spots a day later. Call the pediatrician and see what they say. There is no cure for HFM. Just gotta let it run its course. And try not to get it yourself. It is 10x worse to have it as an adult.

So pretty much he has zero symptoms of HFM and yet you think he has HFM? 😂 and apparently, there are plenty of other people on here who have no idea what HFM is either because the poll is very off. I myself have had HFM and I've worked with plenty of children over the years who have had it as well. This isn't it. This is a very faint rash that could literally be from anything. If you just switched detergents then that could absolutely be the cause. But this is nowhere even close to HFM lol

Sounds like hfm to me. My daughter had it and before she got the blisters she had a fever.
