Formula Feeding question

For my formula feeding Moms- does your formula have a stage 2 (for 6 months plus)? Did you switch to stage 2? Did baby switch with no problems?

My LO eats Nestlé Good Start Plus. I just bought the stage two. The ingredients are very similar but a big increase in Iron and Calcium in stage 2. I first used the new stuff to mix with his oatmeal and he made a face and refused it. He normally loves his oatmeal. I offered him some in a bottle and he wouldn’t drink it. I feel like the new stuff has a stronger smell to it, almost metallic.

I still have some of the stage 1 formula. I’ve made him several of those bottles and he’s drank them. I’m wondering if the taste would be that different with the new stuff? Are the ingredients different enough to cause tummy issues? Should I stick with stage 1 or try fresh tomorrow? He’s normally very open to trying new foods when we’re doing solids, even when he shudders at the taste, he’ll still take the next spoonful. So I was pretty surprised when he outright refused this stuff.
