This year my husband and I are hosting our extended family get together. We just built a new house, so we are excited to have everyone over to celebrate together.

However....

My aunt invited her husbands (grown) kids, their spouses and children to come as well. Didn’t ask us if we were comfortable with it. We don’t know them, don’t know if their kids are well behaved, weren’t planning on getting food to feed that many more, etc. My aunt had nothing but awful things to say about his grown kids and one of them has even stolen from me before several years ago.

I could understand if she extended an invite to someone we know well and we’re comfortable with, but she doesn’t even like them...? I want to talk to my aunt, but then she would cause a huge scene, throw a fit, post on fb about how she’s not coming now because we’re unwelcoming, etc. it would basically ruin our relationship for at least a year because she is that petty.

I dont know if it’s the pregnancy hormones and already being exhausted next week, or if I have a reason to be annoyed.

What would you do?
