Not interested in Crawling?

Anyone else’s babies not interested in crawling? All my LO does is “swim” he tries to get on his knees, but then his arms go out and he’s on his belly swimming. He sits up on his own fine. And when we walk with him holding his hands, he walks with us. But he seems to have no interest in trying to crawl!

Mine isn’t even trying to get on her knees lol she will just turn herself around but not even trying to do anything else. She just barely started pushing up on her arms all the way.

My son started out showing interest. He can even crawl a few steps but at least right now he isn’t about it. He’ll just go back down and try and pull himself up. All he wants to do is stand! He’ll be 7 months in a few days.

I’ll add the obligatory reminder that it’s early for this emerging skill and I wouldn’t worry just yet. Swimming or moving side to side is normal right now, and over the next couple of months is when crawling should emerge. Also due to the significant benefits baby receives developmentally from the act of crawling, keep encouraging it! Don’t let them skip if if possible.

That's how my daughter showed interest. She would "swim" and then get frustrated by not moving. Eventually she started to learn how to move and now she's crawling around everywhere.

My daughter doesn’t really show interest. I’ll place her on her belly and she won’t lean up on all fours, or even just her legs. She likes to just scoot everywhere, like if I lay her one way, if I look at her again, she’s facing the complete opposite way lol. She’ll eventually get there, I know it takes time. 🥰

My son son is 6.5 months & fully crawls. BUT the first thing he ever did was “swim” he did it for awhile before he learned how to get his arms/legs under him. It’s a step !!

My first baby she didn’t really crawled she pretty much went from sitting to walking so don’t worry! My second is almost 7 months and he is trying to crawl and rolls all over the bed it’s exhausting trying to keep him contained lol
