High risk?

Question

Anyone high risk due to age?  I’ll be 35 when baby is born this time around and just wondering what that entails.  Extra ultrasounds?  Extra visits?  Extra testing?  My doctor wasn’t very clear .  Thanks!

Have they told you you are high risk just because you are 35? I am 35 and haven't been classified as high risk at all.

I’ll be 38 at delivery. I’ve have the nipt, a nucal ultrasound, and an early glucose test in addition to the regular stuff and that’s it. I’m not being treated as high risk in any other ways.

35 now, 36 at delivery. Doctor did not consider me high risk at all. So if the age is the only reason you're being called "high risk," then I wouldn't even worry about it. The only thing that differed for me was that a few extra tests (NIPT being the only one we opted to perform) were covered by insurance. My doctor just told me to pay good attention to my body, and if something doesnt seem right, call right away. Other than that, zero extra "things" due to age.

35 is just barely considered advanced maternal age but that doesn’t really make your pregnancy high risk. I’m 37. My friend just had one at 41. My other friend had her twins at 39. 
Nope. You’re totally fine unless you have other reasons to be considered high risk, you will likely have a normal healthy pregnancy. They may have meant that your risk of genetic issues is slightly higher but it’s literally only half a percent higher than someone who isn’t of “advanced maternal age”. Don’t even sweat it.

The only thing different for me for this pregnancy was that since I’m over 35, my insurance covered the NIPT 100%.  I didn’t have the testing with my first child because I would have had to pay several hundreds of dollars out of pocket for it.

I was 37 when I had my first. My panorama test and was covered by insurance. So was the nuchal test.

You just get extra screenings that are covered by insurance simply because of your age. But you dont have to do them if you dont want to.

Same boat. I turned 35 last month in my 2nd trimester. I had to start seeing a specialist (perinatal doctor) as well as my OB at 14 weeks. He does an ultrasound at each visit and communicates with my OB, but my OB handles pretty much everything else.
