Nurse or Teacher?

My parents have always wanted me to become a nurse; I’ll be obtaining a Medical Assistant certificate by June 2020. I’ve come to realize that I want to become a teacher instead. Education catches my attention way more than the medical field. I’ve mentioned this to my parents and they both were disapproving due to the fact that being a nurse makes more money than a teacher. I understand where they’re coming from but I want to work in a field I’m happy in and not just for the money. I’m scared that I’ll disappoint my parents for not becoming a nurse. 
Should I continue on the path to become a nurse or become a teacher? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏🏼

Both are tough jobs. With nursing there are so many different types of positions available that you can go into. You also have the potential to earn much more. 
I am in education and I can tell you that if all there was to being a teacher was teaching, people would be lining up to do it. Teaching is about 15% of the job. The other 85% is jumping through an impossible number of hoops including being subjected to rampant disrespect and possible abuse. 
If you go into teaching, I suggest working towards teaching at the post-secondary level. 
Or, you could go into nursing, save up money from the great salary, then you'll be able to afford the pay cut to teach  nursing classes.

My friends who are nurses only make about 50k.  I know teachers make less, but even if you're a nurse, it's not going to bring in much.  So do what you LOVE💗💗

I’m in nursing school now. It’s a beast. My fiend who has her master’s in teaching says nursing school is harder than her schooling. For example, my math test you needed an 85% or higher so you can pass pills on clinicals. You need 80% or higher to pass all classes as well. I’m carrying decent grades, but it’s tough. The sacrifice will be worth it though.

I'd have to get you know your reasons for wanting to be a teacher to really know. 
Are you more interested in working with children, teaching older kids a certain subject, like the idea of being in the classroom, or maybe you just want to be involved with a school. 
Depending on what is getting your attention you could become a school nurse so you're still with kids and in a school. 
I am about 1.5 years away from earning my BSED for Math Edu and the reasons I want to be a teacher are that I want to help students learn not to give up on math by being able to teach one concept in many different ways. Sometimes I am worried that the stress will be too much for me but I continue on so that is something that the medical field and teach having in common. Can't escape stress and responsibility.

My mom wanted me to be a pharmacist. Now I’m stuck as a pharmacy tech because I didn’t think I was smart enough to go to pharmacy school. I ended up getting a business degree that I haven’t been able to use, yet. I always liked doing creative things but was unaware that there were options for me such as a graphic designer. I wish with all my heart that I did what I wanted and had passion for!
