No nursery in a big house?

Question

We have space and an empty bedroom...but it’s upstairs from our room on the far side of the house.    Downstairs we have extra room in our bedroom and an office next door that has room for a crib.   Does it make more sense to just have baby in our bedroom or move her to the office until she’s older?   What age would her own room make sense?

I have 4 kids and they all initially slept in our room. My 2 boys moved out around 6 months, my 2 girls were getting disturbed by us lol so more like 2 or 3 months. 
100%....do what's better for you. Kids don't care about a nursery or even notice decor etc until around age 1. My 4th daughter slept in the corner of our dining room for months because she was having to room share with her sister but it didn't work with her nap time, so we just planted her there until she was sleeping through the night and could coordinate nap with our other daughter. She was happy as a clam in the dining room lol. If your baby sleeps through the night early, I'd say move her upstairs at that point and get a monitor. If still waking up at night, office.

You mean a master suite? Which is like a double room? Ya you can make him a area in your room but you could also do his nursery and just have his bassinet or crib in there till your not nursing or giving him bottles.

When I had my first baby I did a beautiful nursery on the second floor and once baby arrived I couldn’t put her so far away from us so we moved her crib to our bedroom and it worked for a while until she turned 6 months and we couldn’t sleep so we did struggled until 11 months I hired a sleep consultant and we moved her to her own room but I couldn’t sleep so my husbands and I moved upstairs to the guest bedroom and we were there until my daughter turned 18 months then we stared looking for a new house and this time I made sure all the bedrooms were in the same level, I have my second baby and he is sleeping in my master bathroom so I can hear him but as soon as he drops his night feeding (soon I hope) I will move him to his own room. I am all about kids sleeping on their own but when there are little its kind of scary not being able to hear them if they need you in the middle of the night
