What do you think?

Okay so I need some advice. My partner and I are in a long distance relationship, everything is amazing. It’s the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in.

He has never been in a proper relationship before and has slept with more people than me.

When I last saw him he told me he loves me, which he has never told another person. The thing is I know he meant it by how scared he was to say it.

A few days later I was on his phone and (I’m in the wrong here) looked at messages from a girl he used to be kinda romantic (non sexual) with. She had sent a picture of her ass to him but he has never sent anything to her but said she had a nice bum. When I confronted him about it he cried maybe more than me about it. He said he was so disinterested in her that he didn’t even realise until I mentioned it how wrong it actually was. He explained he was just trying to be nice to not upset her. (This girl used to abuse him and treat him like shit) She sends a message every couple weeks saying hello and he typically ends the conversation quickly.

After our talk he cut her off reminding her he has a girlfriend and she needs to stop.

After he hugged me and continued to sob and I could tell their was real fear of losing me and regret. I love this man and he’s been nothing but kind to me so I say if he’s honest and communicates with me then we’re okay.

He calls his house he owns our home and hopes one day for me to move in. He’s talked about our future together and he seems so genuine.

How should I feel? Do you think it was a genuine dumb mistake? Is it a red flag?
