Who is ready?!

Who is ready to do the Gestational Diabetes testing?! NOT ME! My OB finally gave me the date of when they want me to go in for my 1hr test. They put me in at 8:45 and told me I had to start drinking the horrible drink at 7:35 and stop drinking it at 7:45...10 mins to drink 5oz of the stuff (it's a 10 oz. Bottle)...so not looking forward to the 16th.

I just did mine today. it sucked, but I went out to a buffet for lunch afterwards to reward myself 😂

I did mine yesterday. I chugged it and got it down in a minute. I figured the sooner I got it down the sooner I can test. it honestly didn't taste to horrible. I didnt eat anything before the test and got my results and passed. If you like orange pop at all the drink isn't to bad.

I did mine with my last pregnancy early in the morning and I was so hungry and thirsty from rushing out the door I drank the whole thing before they even started the timer. It was cold and not that bad honestly,I had the fruit punch. It made me really sleepy so I rushed home and took a nap and woke up with the worst upset tummy 🤢.

1 hour wasnt too bad. I just took my 3 hour and that was miserable 🤢

I’m so nervous I’m going to fail! Mine is on Wednesday. I have the bottle in the fridge ready to go. My app is at 2:45 so I gotta drink it at 2:00 in 5 mins. I’m not worried about the drink tasting bad though. But I’ve had some symptoms of GD. Like extreme thirst, frequent urination, I’m just nervous and really don’t want to fail and do the 3 hour one.

You won’t want to take that long to drink it anyway. It’s so sweet it’ll be hard to get the end down if you do, just chug it!  I did the 2hr one at 9 weeks. It makes you nauseous but fight through it and then eat once your done.

I didn’t find it to be that terrible. I had 4 mins to drink the bottle. It tasted like an overly sugary Hi C... the worst part was sitting for the hour with all that sugar on your stomach. 🤢

I do home testing for a week instead of the test due to a previous reaction. So glad I don't have to go through that again. Good luck!

I tend toward hypoglycemia, so I get to skip the drink and just come in for 3 mornings in a row of fasting blood sugars. Last time I tried to do that glucose tolerance test, I wound up unconscious on the floor with low blood sugar. 😂
