General anaesthetic?

*Edit* Thank you all for your replies and stories. My LO is having an MRI for suspected Cerebral Palsy.
Has anyone else’s LO been under general anaesthetic? My 14 month old goes under next week for an MRI and I’m getting so nervous. 
Any positive/negative stories welcome, I’d rather be fully prepared than be shocked on the day.

My son went under general anesthesia when he was ten months old in order to have his tear duct probed. He was only under for a few minutes and he did just fine. The doctor and nurses were fantastic and eased our minds by explaining everything. He was very upset (showed off his set of lungs) when he woke up, but they said it’s normal for them to cry like that when they first wake up. He continued to cry once we were able to hold him and it took a few minutes for him to settle but then he was fine. Make sure to write down any questions you have in advanced, especially about eating and drinking beforehand. It can be scary, but I am sure all will be fine. My first son had to get an mri for seizures and he was put under for it. He was almost 6 months old when they had to. We were nervous about it too, but he did fine.

Why is he getting an mri? My baby had to go through a chest X-ray and oh my gosh he just did not let himself
