When did you guys start wiping after giving birth?

I had a second degree tear 8 days later I’m still using the squirt bottle. Am I okay to start wiping now? I’m not in pain anymore.

Oooh way longer than needed, but i really liked it hahahahahahaha! But seriously I would start patting/dabbing gently to begin with and see how you feel about it!

I'm a Maternity nurse and we tell our patients to use the squirt bottle and pat dry gently until bleeding stops (sometimes 4-6) weeks. A lot also depends on where your stitches are... if they are on the outside (labial, clitoral, urethral, etc) then I would be more gentle with patting/wiping than if they are inside (vaginal).

Like 2 days ago I started wiping again😂 but I still even like using the peri bottle! I’m 6 weeks postpartum

I still pat at 8 weeks pp lol. I've tried won't and it just feels... weird. if it doesn't hurt though them go for it!

I loved using the perinieal irrigation squirt bottle they gave me. It was amazing and saved my life from even more pain. I probably used it for a month or 2 after birth. I eventually wiped in the second month with wipes and then eventually regular tp.
