I’m 7 weeks pregnant is it bad to sleep on my back?  Which side to i sleep on  ?thats safe

sleep anyway you want to until it gets uncomfortable.

At this point any sleep position is fine. It is suggested after the first trimester to sleep mainly on the left side. As baby gets bigger, he/she could press on the main artery that runs down the right side of your spine. It controls how much blood goes to your heart, in turn resulting in how much can be pumped back out. It can also affect blood flow through the umbilical cord. I’m 23 weeks and occasionally still wake up on my back. I just roll over as soon as I notice. A pregnancy pillow has helped a lot in keeping me on my side.

I slept on my back until I gave birth! It depends on your comfort level- if you get numbness or tingling it might mean the baby is compressing blood flow, which is bad. But I felt just fine on my back and was super uncomfortable on my side.

I’m 36 weeks and I sleep on either side. I roll around a lot at night but I used to be a stomach sleeper before I got pregnant.😂😂😂

However your comfortable at this point. I slept on my stomach until I got to big. The left side is the most beneficial for blood flow reasons but right is fine and even your back. Many women dont have any issues sleeping on their back. Later in your pregnancy, 35+ weeks, your womb can become heavy enough to put pressure on the blood vessel on the right side of your body leading back to the heart. Putting a pillow under your right side can help and your body will let you know its time because you will feel lightheaded/dizzy. Again some women never have issues at all.

Back sleeping first trimester is safe, not recommended for 2nd and 3rd. But suggested to get use to sleeping on your left side (helps blood flow). Right side is ok,but left is recommended.
