Should I Ask My Boyfriend About My (expensive) Gift? *Pls read

So my boyfriend (of ~2 months) got me these really nice headphones for Christmas, since I use public transportation everyone and had expressed how I didn’t have any working headphones and lost my iPhone dongle. He surprised me with Tarah Bluetooth headphones for Christmas, I don’t know anything about technology so I didn’t know how expensive they were. And I’ve been using them everyday pretty much, but they’re a little uncomfortable so I went online to check if they had buds in a smaller size and that’s when I found out that they cost over $100 ($99 for the headphones, $19.99 for accessories). Now I just feel really guilty because he got me these headphones and two books for Christmas, and told me he wanted to get me even more. I don’t know if I should tell him I know how much they cost and thank him again, or not say anything? I want him to know I appreciate the sentiment and understand that it was a pricey, thoughtful gift.

100 isn't really that much to spend these days. Shit is expensive. He could have gotten you cheap ones from the dollar store and they would have broken a week later 🤷

Lol, I just bought my husband $500 headphones. He told me he “loves them” and “thank you” and that was it. You’re fine. In my family $100 is a standard/minimum amount to spend on a gift.

It’s the thought that counts, not the amount someone may end up spending. I’m figuring you’ve already thanked him once, you don’t need to go around and thank him again. Just being appreciative and using the gift should be enough of a thanks over verbally thanking him (again).

Just tell him again how much you like them/use them everyday. My hubby loves to see me use/wear something that was a surprise gift because he feels like he did a good job picking the gift.

If you want to make it known that you really appreciate them, maybe just drop a compliment every now and then like “my bus rides are so much less boring now that I have these headphones and can listen to music, thanks so much!”
