Is it wrong to keep in contact with your ex?

For me, I just still have them on snap for streaks and random convos about life or even just talking about each others story. My boyfriend seemed a bit jealous, but he wasn’t a bad ex. Is this wrong?

I personally don’t think it matters what any of us say, that’s your relationship. He’s his own person and he has his own feelings, I think this is something you guys have to talk about and go from there.

I just don’t really see why it’s necessary, whether it was a good or bad breakup. But I’ve never been the type to keep in contact with an ex. They became ex’s because either they or I decided life together wasn’t working...

Depends on the situation. Do you have kids. Etc. I stayed friends with some of my ex’s and randomly see them but I let him know. I know down deep it bothers him. He will make little comments jokingly. But it’s part insecurity and part unknown of a possibility. He told me day 1 that he can be jealous but my reply was we all can be sometimes. He knows I have zero desire to ever be with anyone else. Never cheated. Always been cheated on. But He was telling me a story about a woman flirting with him at work calling him papi. He said he laughed because I call him that and she was asking if he was single etc. my first thought was, do I gotta cut a bitch? lol but I didn’t say it out loud. He thought it was funny because that’s what I call him. Being Latina it’s our thing to call men papi. But nothing came of it of course but we all can be jealous sometimes. I’m open and honest. When I saw my first boyfriend I told him about it. That he was happy for me that I found someone etc. but I know down deep it bothers him. He will make little snide comments Like is that what fireman used to do? and I just reply really dude, Come on. I have mostly male friends. Less drama. But again I tell him if I see or talk to them. I’m open and honest. Nothing to hide. Lots of guys like me but nothing will ever come of it. I tell him if I get hit on too. My reply is thank you my boyfriend thinks so too lol men can be insecure just as much as women can. I don’t think it’s wrong to stay friend with an ex but if that ex is trying to make advances or mess around behind their back that part is wrong obviously. My guy knows I don’t really notice other men and I proved that the other day he asked me which one of his coworkers helped me I said I don’t know white guy, maybe glasses I don’t know his name or what he really looked like I don’t notice  people, or details. Just you. He actually knew me in passing and liked me for years but I never paid much attention and he knows that too. All my male friends are hey buddy so they know where they stand. I don’t lead them on or give them false hope and we talk about the the women that they pursue etc. nothing sexual with me and I keep it that way.

I accidentally selected that it’s not bad but yes it is bad!!! Don’t do it the only time you should have contact with an ex is if you guys have a kid together & it should be strictly about the kid.

I mean, the jealously makes sense, you are in contact with someone you used to be romantic and intimate with. But I think it depends on the situation as well
