How did your cat react and interact with your new born?

Did your cat even pay baby any attention? Anything I should do to prepare them for one another?

One got really depressed and the other one just made himself scarce. My husband introduced our baby to them by having them sniff his feet when we got home from the hospital. He apparently read about it on the internet. 🤷🏻‍♀️ My son is now 2 and the relationship remains very one-sided. Nobody has been injured but I do constantly fear for my cat’s safety.

(They didn’t really sleep this way. I was already up for the day.)

My cats dont like the newborn stage they stay away usually unless Im sitting on the couch. They prefer when they are older 😂

My cats hardly even noticed there was a baby around when my son was a newborn. Now that’s he’s 1 and into everything they definitely notice him more.. he’ll want to grab them and pull them but they just hide from my son or run away

I will never have a cat and my (future)baby together omg.. Not because I hate cats, i really love them and have had 2 before!  But because of my moms experience! Her mom(my grandma) had a cat and I think that she got really jealous of her baby(my mom) and she literally sat on my moms face when my grandma wasn't looking!! Cats are different kind of evil😩

My cats stayed away but they were really nosy with his stuff. They wanted to jump in his cot to sleep (before he was even born!) So I put tin foil and balloons in it - a tip I had read online to keep the cats from jumping in the cot once baby is in it sleeping. It worked.
They would come up and give him a wee sniff if he was in his bouncer and run the opposite direction once he was up and walking lol!

My cats are fine with my baby. One even treats her like a kitten. I have to stop him from trying to groom her. 😆
