Unwanted gifts

I hate to be ungrateful but I specifically told inlaws don't worry about buying anything because she has been struggling to make ends meet. I was ok with her bringing her and her cousins hand me downs over even though we have very different taste. I accepted it and said thank you and rewashed the cigarette smell out. Now she has bought a evenflo carseat That I would have never picked its hard and bulky and it won't adapt to the stroller I planned on getting. She said she already ordered a bassinet. I don't know if I'm just hormonal but I really wanted the things I picked out thats why I politely declined all gifts my husband is just happy he didn't have to buy anything for the baby. And said I should be grateful because she can't afford it. I just needed to vent .Rant over.
