Unfortunately your doctor will not unless they feel like one is needed. You can ask for a pregnancy confirmation appointment, which normally does to measure baby. You can also look up 3D/4D scans and pay for one,prices depends on locations. I paid $135, but I know others have paid as low as $50.

Thank yall! The reason I was asking is because I had a private scan scheduled (2.5 hours away) tomorrow but they cancelled due to weather threats. I have an OB appointment Tuesday (was rescheduled from yesterday 😭), so I was hoping I'd just be able to stay close to home to have one done. But I scheduled the private scan for Tuesday evening out of town.

I would for sure just go to a private place. The place I went to asked for my doctor’s name and number in case they found anything alarming. I got a special for one for $35 and the ones at my obgyn were $70 something dollars for the same thing.

I would look into a private ultrasound place if your wanting to get one for a non medical reason. For doctors office you can ask when they would usually do them most do them for sure around the 20 week mark and for the earlier ones It really ranges depend on if they wanna so an early confirmation or not. I’ve gotten dating ultrasound done around 7/8 weeks with all my kids but usually their was a reason and betas before that. 1st child: I had really irregular cycles at the time so I’d they went off my LMP I would be much farther along then I actually was. 2nd: was conceived right after going through a chemical pregnancy the month before and an early miscarriage a couple months before that. 3rd: This one I had only had one Period at 9M Postpartum and with my history of miscarriage they decided to do the early ultrasound and betas.
