When do I call??

Question

How do I know when to call the doctor? I’ve been having inconsistent contractions on and off since yesterday. But I feel lots of pain like round ligament also. I’m 35w2d and cervix was closed as of last week. I don’t want to call for every pain but how do I know when it’s time??

I say if you are worried, call. At least you’ll get reassurance. If you are toying with the idea of calling, do it. You don’t need to worry.

I called cause I was haveing cramping that was consistent for a few days. My doctor said that if I still feel baby moveing, not bleeding, and contractions aren't 3 mins apart then I'm okay. But if I felt like I needed to go in and get checked go to L&D if that made me feel more comfortable. I'm also 35 weeks.

Since you’re still preterm if you get more than 6 an hour, just give them a call. They’re a bit more cautious when you’re not full term yet. Once you hit 37 weeks they’ll probably be a bit more selective, like they have to be 5 minutes apart, lasting a minute, at least before they send you to l&d. However, if you’re ever really worried you can call and their nurse or physician can advise you, but they may not send you to the hospital. Just FYI, I have always started getting Braxton Hicks in the 2nd trimester. I get them all the time, but they’re not usually consistent. When i start getting closer to my due date, maybe 35-36 weeks on they intensify. It’s so frustrating not know if they’re for real or not. You’ll know when you’re in active labor, but that early labor stage can be annoying and it can last for quite awhile. Then there are Braxton Hicks that make you think you’re in early labor, but you may not be. Good luck!

When you have 5 or more in an hour before 36 weeks I was told to call.  They probably will say wait and see but that’s what I was told
