Quiet baby- when to worry?

I’m currently 35 weeks, 1 day. Noticed all day today that baby has been quiet and not moving a ton. She is moving sometimes, but it’s less than her normal. When do you need to be concerned about this? Hate calling the doc on the weekends especially since it’s getting to be late.

If you feel uncomfortable about it, call them anyway. Remember that’s your baby and your concerned. Praying everything is okay.

Drink a big glass of cold water-- like 32 oz or more-- as fast as you can. Then lay on your left side. If that doesn't get the baby going, then I'd call.

Drink something caffeinated or something you know baby likes. (Mine normally likes Mountain Dew or grape juice) and lay on the side baby kicks more on. Personally I cant lay on my left side with her. If she doesn’t kick 10 times in 2 hours is when to call. But if she isn’t as active as normal then I would go get checked.

My OB said kick counts aren't to be relied on, instead you k kw when your baby is usually active e.g morning or night and if they behave out of character for them then you should phone the hospital. Every baby is different so counting 10 kicks an hour doesnt really mean anything. Never be embarrassed to just get checked, the hospital staff are very used to it

Know when she’s normally active. Like 10am, 3pm, 9pm etc. during that time, drink something with Sugar and lay down. The 10 kicks in 2 hours is misleading. My baby never moves from about 11-2/3 and if I tried to do a kick count then it wouldn’t work.

My girl was quieter than usual this week but still doing her ten moves within an hour when I checked. I think she was resting up because she feels nonstop today with some serious kicks and punches. Don’t stress but I agree if you are worried, no harm in calling. I did that back in November - nothing ended up being wrong but it was a relief to be sure!
