Stopping sterilizing?

Hey all!
So my son is 8 months old today (woo!) And my best friend has two boys. She said she stopped sterilizing by now / when they were eating. 
We still sterilize the bottles. Just wondering if anyone else stopped sterilizing at 8 months?

I never sterilized bottles. Its not necessary unless your child has an innume disorder or is premature

I sterilized bottles until we moved to sippy cups. I'm a super germaphobe and my sterilizer was so easy to use so it wasn't an inconvenience.

If you live in a place where the water is safe, there is no need to sterilize them except for one time when you first buy them.

I never sterilized except for a week when he had oral thrush. I just washed with soap and water or put in the dishwasher.

I do it with brand new items, and occasionally throw them in the dishwasher, ours has a sanitize option so I’ll set it to that every few weeks.
